Use these easy to remember settings to render the sky a deep blue but not black. The sky darkens from east to west so you may start by pointing your camera east to meter the sky just after sunset. Set the ISO to 200, aperture preferred mode, and the F-stop to f-4. Wait for the shutter speed to read ¼ sec. Lock this setting (you may need to switch to manual mode), compose, take your shots and bracket. Of course, you can use reciprocal settings such as 1 sec. at F-8. Move from east to west as the sky darkens. Also, you may wish to set your white balance to tungsten (3200 K).
