May 31st  “Talk Photography” has been changed to “Jake Jacobson: Travel Photography of the South West:.  Jake will share images from his recent trip to northern Arizona, including Sedona, Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Glen Canyon Dam, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelley, and the Petrified Forest.”

June 7th Digital Circuit (Open) has been changed to Digital Circuit (Nature) and a brief business meeting has been added.

If you have the ability, please join the two images so that they can be shown simultaneously on the screen. If you can’t do this, Tony Mistretta will do it for you.

Try to submit the images by Sunday, April 22^nd. You may send them by e-mail to images@stonybrookcc.com, or you may use Dropbox.  If you don’t have Dropbox yet, you may request it by sending an e-mail to images@stonybrookcc.com.  There will be no manipulation of your images after they are submitted. That’s up to you. I hope that we will see images from a variety of makers, from beginners to experts.

By the way, there are some excellent presentations and articles created by club members over the years.  These are posted here.

Club tied for fifth in Diversity

Well first the digital competition chair (Ann) invites you to share the dropbox folder. (I do get more space for inviting you) if you accept you can download the software and dropbox will become a set of folders on your computer. The folder inside that we share is where you can put images. You can also share other folders in the box with other people, create a gallery and share links with friends and family who dont have dropbox, use it for the free 2gig of backup space (expandable to 16 gig for free with referals).  We have been using it for a year and all like it alot. there are a few quirks too it, if you drag a file over to the folder it really believes it is on your computer so it really moves the file not copys it. once your used to that its fantastic.

The exhibition will be for two months at The Audubon Education Center in Bristol RI, see www.asri.org for directions, the reception will be May 6 between 1 and 3 pm.

Also Steve is selling a book with images from the exhibition.  The publishers web site is, www.magcloud.com . This is a wonderful way to share your images with family and friends. Look at the calendars and books other people are making this is not very hard to do.

Winning images will have to wait a week since I’ll be traveling this week.

As a club we again came in fourth place with 334 total points from our top seven makers with 3 medals.

They were: Dan Charbonnet, Ray Guillette, Jake Jacobson, Wendy McIntosh, Joan Shirley, Dick Shirley, and Shiv Verma.

We also came in third with for most club entries with 42. This year Merrimack Valley beat us out for second with 46 entries but a Chinese club came in over the transom with an astounding 63 entries. The Chinese are beating us up on many fronts but they only came in sixth place overall!

Many thanks to all who entered. It’s a great experience to compete i n a worldwide arena. Jake Mosser will be at club Thursday with the individual score cards when he brings Andre Gallant down. If you don’t get yours at that time, I have a listing of everyone’s scores.
