The Stony Brook Camera Club Scholarship Fund was established to award scholarships to high school students who are continuing their education in photography, the arts, and related subjects.  The Scholarships directly support the club’s mission statement to support photography through education.

Applications are sought from the high school in each municipality where a club member resides. There is no restriction on the state of residence as we have members residing in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Texas, among others.

Over the years, the club has awarded two to three scholarships per year.  The Scholarship Fund operates outside of the club’s budget; scholarships are awarded and funded solely based on donations from club members.  The number of scholarships rewarded is directly related to the funds donated during that particular year.

There are two primary ways to donate money to the Scholarship Fund:

1)       Club members may donate money to the Scholarship Fund through the club website using PayPal.  Click on the Membership Tab, then on “Membership, Four Score Raffle and Scholarship Fund” dropdown tab.  Follow the prompts to donate your selected amount.

2)        The Club holds a 50:50 raffle during most in-person/hybrid meetings.  Three tickets for the raffle may be purchased for $2.00, and nine tickets may be purchased for $5.00.   50% of the proceeds go to the winning ticket number drawn at the meeting.

Your thoughtfulness in donating to the Scholarship Fund is most sincerely appreciated.
